Happy Cuteness from a Mom

snow mom and kidI read this post on the mommy blog. It's a cute little quip. Smile worthy.

"When I told my daughter that we wouldn’t be sending out Christmas cards this year, she asked if I was just going to email them. I said, “No, sweetie, I mean the ones where we take a picture together and print up cards and mail them out. We usually do more than hundred of them, but it’s just too expensive right now.”

She said, “Don’t worry, Mama, I’ll do them this year.” And she has been drawing cards for three days. She checks in now and then to ask me to write out a name or a phrase she can copy, or to ask what I think someone’s favorite color is. She has a little cheat sheet with names crossed out in different colors to keep track. She’s keeping all of her cards, in envelopes, in a tin pail under her pillows, but doesn’t think I know.

“Mama, I want to make Santa a card. Can you write out, ‘Thank you for all the toys you have given us?’ And do you think I should give him a present?”

“What kind of present?”

“Well, maybe a picture of me when I was a baby or something. But where would we put it?”

“I think we could set it on the table next to his cookies, and then he’ll be sure to see it.”

“Okay, but make sure we have copies so we don’t give him the only one we have.”

I just want to cry when I see how she’s personalizing them and taking such care. I made a special trip to the post office today for a book of stamps."

Cuteness.
