Introducing Starbucks almond butter! And jam? No way. Fabulous news! At first glance, the new line of Starbucks healthy breakfast menu items seems a bit boring and not-really-healthy. But a second look shows a few winners on the menu. Including a PB and J for adults, a yummy and calorie friendly oatmeal option and even a new treat! The almond butter packets are from Justin's Nut Butter, a very cool Colorado brand. And yes, the almond butter is sweetened with vegan sweeteners. No honey.

Here is the list of new items:
Perfect Oatmeal 100% whole-grain goodness finished with your choice of dried fruit, nut medley or brown sugar.
Fruit Stella Bursting with 100% whole grains plus juicy baked berries and omega-3s.
Chewy Fruit & Nut Bar Real fruit, oats, nuts and clover honey with plenty of yum.
Multigrain Roll Made with seven hearty grains and seeds and the sweet taste of honey. Comes with your choice or almond butter or fruit preserves.
Apple Bran Muffin A good source of fiber, with hearty grains, dried cherries and baked apple.
Power Protein Plate An on-the-go snack of Cheddar cheese, fresh fruit, hard-boiled cage-free egg, whole-wheat bagel and peanut butter.

This morning I was excited to get a multigrain roll, a few less calories than the traditional bagel. And a side of the NEW Justin's brand Almond butter squeeze pack and Bonne Maman strawberry preserves squeeze pack.
Wow--almond butter instead of peanut butter...very nice.
So the estimated calorie content of this surprisingly wholesome snack is around 420 calories...plus whatever coffee beverage you are likely to enjoy as well.
280 calories=multigrain roll
100 calories=almond butter pack
estimate 40 calories=strawberry preserves
Not bad....
Plus there is about 11 grams of protein and a few grams of fiber! Its the PB and J for adults--or KIDS to enjoy on the go....Next up was the OATMEAL...can you guess the calories???? Well you'll be happy to hear that there are only 140 calories in the oatmeal! And 5 grams of protein. And the best part is that its dairy-free, vegan! Not milky fillers like Starbucks has done with its frapps and smoothies.
And if you'd like, you can add a 100 calorie nut-medly to your oatmeal, or fruit or brown sugar....not bad at all!
So check out and try a few of these new treats at Starbucks. They seem reminiscent of the Jamba Juice snacks, but still healthier than the LEMON LOAF with 410 calories and 8 GRAMS of saturated fat... or the dreaded seemingly healthy blueberry scone with 450 calories, 20 grams of fat and 11 grams of saturated fat..... or giant rainbow cookie with 17 grams of fat--10 being saturated fat!
Way to go Starbucks....
